First off I would like to welcome everyone to my blog it is not quite complete yet. There are a few more things that need to be done with the design and navigation. So you could call this a sort of beta test!

As this is my first blog I am a little unsure what to write about, but as time goes by I’m sure it will come more naturally to me.

I am a web designer from Bridgend, South Wales and have been working as a designer/developer for Newsquest in Newport. I started working at Newsquest after I completed my degree in 2006 at the Glamorgan University.

I have always had an interest in web design and built my first web site at the age of 14. It was by no means a good looking website – think ‘Hello World’ test page with simply styling and hyperlinks. Nether the less I was hooked. Fast forward 10 years and I am now working in a job that I really enjoy with great people around me.

My skills

My skills include, but not limited to; HTML/XHTML, PHP, ASP, CSS, Javascript. Highly knowledgeable using the following software; Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Swish. I also have knowledge in the following areas; design and development, online marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), e-commerce and content management systems.

I’m more than happy to take on freelance work to develop my wider portfolio, assuming such work is not in a related industry and does not impact on my salaried role. If you do wish to discuss any opportunities please contact me.
